I Didn't Fall Off the Face of the Earth, I Promise

Hey, y'all. Just wanted to let you know that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, or anything. I'm still alive. :)

I know I haven't blogged in a while-- sorry about that. I would say that I've been busy, but that would be a lie. In reality, I've been staring at the computer screen trying to write, but nothing will come.

Sometimes writing just seems so pointless-- will what I'm writing now make an impact on someone someday? Is writing beneficial to me, or am I just wasting my time? I haven't quite figured that out yet.

Anyway, here's some pictures of things that I've done since I last blogged:

I went to my first formal dance:
It was so much fun! My friend's mom took all of us girls from the basketball team. It's the first real dance I've ever been to. I refused to dance with any boys, if you were wondering. And I'm not just saying that because my dad reads this blog.

Here's what I looked like before I left:

Here's what we looked like half-way through the night:

Yeah, we got a little crazy. But crazy is good. :)

(I'll post these pictures by the end of the week... I don't have them loaded on this computer.)

I went to my first WVU college basketball game:
Me and Sidney.
The lighting in the Coliseum is bad,
so my face looks even more WHITE than usual.
I went to yet another dance:

This one was a lot more casual. That made me happy-- it meant I could wear my jeans and boots.
The only green article of clothing I currently own,
black tank top,
blue jeans, and tall black boots
This dance was the annual "Shamrock Shake" my old school has had every year since about the dawn of time. :) Everybody wears green and snacks on cookies and cupcakes and pepperoni rolls and we "dance."
I love the differences between our school dance and the formal at the other school.
The Other Dance:
Formal attire
Creepy DJ with a 'fro and crazy clothes
Mostly rap and rock music played at extreme volume
Strobe lights and disco-thingy
Five dollars to get in, and then if you wanted food you had to pay for it at the concessions' stand
Open to anyone in the county in middle school or high school
Just dancing
Our Shamrock Shake:
You can wear whatever you want-- jeans and boots and green shirts were most common, though
DJ with a beard wearing jeans and a WVU sweatshirt
Mostly Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, and Luke Bryan at a normal volume.
No special lights, just the regular ones dimmed down so the little kids don't get scared.
One dollar to get in, lots of delicious free food made by the moms and teachers
Only kids who go to this school could come (technically the school board considers me a student here because my name is on the list of band students-- that's the only way I got in.)
Lots of silly games
My friends had WAAAAY too much fun
wrapping me up in toilet paper for the "best mummy" contest
Yes, that is me.

Out on the dance floor.
I'm not sure what happened to this photo--
It was really clear.
It turned all blurry when I uploaded it.

I got my basketball goal set up so I can practice:

(Sorry, I don't have these pictures loaded, either.)

Anyway, that's what's happened in the past month. Be looking for some blog posts soon... I'll be posting quite a bit. Unless I suddenly die or something. But I don't plan on doing that any time soon. So, yeah...

I'm going to shut up now. ;)

xx Rebecca
